How do I create an IEP form my pupil?

Adding an IEP

Click IEP on the left-hand menu of the assessment screen.

SOLAR takes you to the IEP Module.  

Click Add IEP

If your school is using the standard IEP form on SOLAR you will be presented with the following screen.  If your school has made changes to the form then this will look different.

Note: When setting up a new “Standard” IEP in SOLAR all the fields are “Mandatory” except for “Evaluation” and will need to have data entered into them.  This is denoted by the fact that they have a “*” next to them.

Type* Is automatically set to IEP.

Date Added* defaults to the current date. You can change this if required.

Pupil* Click to see a list of pupils and select the pupil that you require.  You can also start typing the name of the pupil that you require and select the one you want from the list of names displayed.

Term* Select the term that you are setting the IEP for from the drop-down list. If you want to create the IEP for the academic year then select all 3 terms.

You can now start entering your IEP Target.

Focus Area* Select the focus area from the drop-down list. If the focus area you require is not shown, you can click “+Add new focus area” to add it.
Note 1: You will only be allowed to add a new focus area if your SOLAR Administrator has allowed this in your User Profile.
Note 2: Focus Area is key to running reports on IEPs in SOLAR as SOLAR uses this field to display how many IEPs have been set and achieved within each Focus Area.

Strategy* Enter your Strategy (this is a text field).

Target: Enter your Target (this is a text field).

Success Criteria* Enter your Success Criteria (this is a text field).

Evaluation: When you are setting up a new IEP this field does not need to be completed as it will be more appropriate to add data here at a later stage.

Status*  Status defaults to “Not Achieved”. When you are updating the IEP at a later date you can select a new “Status” from the drop-down list. If the “Status” you require does not appear you can click “+Add new Status” to add this.
Note: You will only be allowed to add a new status if your SOLAR Administrator has allowed this in your User Profile.

If you want to set more than 1 IEP Target for the IEP click: -

Then enter the details for the additional target.
Note: You can have as many targets as you want in an IEP.

When you have finished entering your IEP Targets click SAVE.
